In the 1920’s, Mr Bert Lintott, son of the licensee, had carried out renovations.
He recalls in 1920’s there were paraffin lamps in the bar and the pumps were in the kitchen.
During the war, Canadians stationed in Wanborough would visit the White Hart. At that time there was no bar.
The landlord, the Lintotts, served drinks from the kitchen.
In 1950 they had electric lights and all conveniences. (Surrey Times 16th December 1950).
Anita Ball remembers as a child (in the 1940s?) that there was only two small rooms and an off licence.
All the area at the back was the publican’s cottage.
The toilets were outside, and the restaurant was the barn which the cricket club used to keep their gear and change before the matches.
