Wood Street Village Folk

Wood Street Village Folk:

This information about Wood Street Village Folk has been taken from the paper files the History Society has collected over the years. Most of the articles are either from newspaper articles, or from accounts given to us by the families named.  We had so much information that very little could be fitted into the original ‘Yellow Book’.  Pages 19 to 29 of the Yellow Book includes details of various pf the older village families. This website has allowed us to include so much more information about the people of Wood Street over the last 150 years, but much has still been precised.  The most interesting aspects are the memories of what life was like back then; and children’s memories of life during the War, especially WW2.

If you have further interesting details or photos about ‘village folk’ that you would like me to post, please email me. Word format and .jpg format for pictures if possible.
