Canon James Hedley Vallins b 1902 & Mrs Ceclia Vallins b 1898.
Canon James Vallins retired and came to live in the cottage next to St. Alban’s Church, Wood Street, in 1965. He used to preach and take services & sometimes play the organ in the old church. He had previously worked in the Ministry for the parishes of Bramley from 1931, Fleet, Hinchley Wood ( where they experienced many bombing casualties during the war) and then for 20 years in Englefield Green from 1945. Cecilia held weekly bible classes & took up painting in pastels at the age of 80. Their second son Chris Vallins b 1943, was the rector of St Alban’s for seven years until 1989.
